Welcome to my blog which aims to explore the use of apps as a teaching and learning tool. This blog focusses on using the application (app) ‘Summaze Primary,’ to promote mathematical reasoning. Mathematical reasoning is one strand of the Maths National Curriculum and this blog will initially delve into current policy on teaching and learning of Maths.
There has been a significant rise in the use of apps and tablet technology for educational purposes, as Mc Graw-Hill (2015) recognise on their blog highlighting that educational apps are the third most popular category in the ‘Apple’s’ app store. Therefore, this blog will also explore the role of apps and game-based learning focussing on the app ‘Summaze Primary,’ in developing teaching and learning opportunities.
